CCBA Awards

Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year
This award is presented to a lawyer for their excellence, achievement, and commitment to providing legal services to Charleston’s low-income residents and/or disadvantaged individuals and/or organizations serving such individuals.

Young Lawyer of the Year
Awarded to a Charleston lawyer under 36 years of age and/or within their first five years of legal practice who selflessly contributes to the profession and Charleston community.

Charleston Legal Luminary Award
Awarded to a member of the Charleston County bar with an active practice who exemplifies civility in their practice, serves as a resource for other attorneys in the community despite a demanding schedule, and makes unselfish contributions to advance the careers of colleagues and/or mentors junior lawyers.

Judge Richard Fields Public Service Award
This award is presented annually to a CCBA member whose career accomplishments have included outstanding contributions to the Charleston community through public service, such as counsel to a local/state/federal government agency, service in the judiciary, or working for organizations that provided legal services on behalf of individuals, organizations, or causes that would otherwise lack effective representation within the legal system.
