PARALEGAL – SOCIAL SECURITY/DISABILITY

About the Role

The Paralegal is the firm’s primary point of contact for all current and potential clients. They are self-motivated team player who works directly with 3 other paralegals and 2 attorneys. The paralegal will be responsible for maintaining meticulous client records, communicating regular updates to leadership, and filtering incoming client calls.  The paralegal will be responsible for providing necessary and courteous updates to potential clients, current clients, vendors, Social Security Administration contacts and firm leadership.  The paralegal may also be asked to assist in requesting medical records or in conducting potential client interviews.

Daily Functions

  • Answer and filter incoming calls
  • Maintain attorneys’ schedules
  • Maintain contact with clients and potential clients via e-mail and/or regular mail
  • Track status of active cases
  • Provide status updates to clients clearly and courteously – always providing “next steps” for what action they can expect next
  • Prepare files for disability hearings

Requirements

  • 2-3 Years of experience as a Paralegal
  • Social Security Disability Law background preferred
